There is no doubt that Candy Pollard has seen the bigger part of what the world of electronic music has to offer. With more than 25 years of experience, the Heilbronn born and based DJ is truly no longer a newcomer and this is clearly reflected in his understanding of music.
His love for the subculture began in the early 1990s with the infectious beats of Eurodance acts like Technotronic, KLF and U96. What started as a simple fascination with these sounds quickly grew into an obsession with collecting records, leading him to explore music far beyond the mainstream. By the late '90s he organized his own raves in the forests around Heilbronn, creating spaces where he could share his evolving taste in music with others who were just as passionate.
These early raves laid the groundwork for his career which has always been about finding the right balance between complexity and consistency. They also led to another important chapter in his life as a DJ and organizer: WHO THE FUCK. The 10 years running party series in which Candy Pollard acted both as resident DJ and co-initiator has become firmly established in the Heilbronn club scene and way beyond over the years with its well-considered and high-quality booking.
As his musical style, shaped by a wide range of influences from every genre, is always evolving and going with the flow of the time, it's nearly impossible to nail him down to something specific. It just has to groove.
Today Candy Pollard continues to push the boundaries of electronic music, staying true to his roots while always looking ahead. His dedication to the craft has earned him respect in the global electronic music community though he remains as humble and passionate as ever about the music that drives him.
